Nearby on the same highway, the Hokarsa wetland reserve plays host to innumerable variety of winged visitors. New studies have indicated that migratory birds may play a huge role in dissemination of the influenza virus.

These broilers are kept in an unhygienic way without any biosecurity and slaughtered on the roadside, this time on the Srinagar Baramulla highway.
