food refusal by cats

My 2 Persian cats have stopped eating their diet of chicken, spinach, carrots, potatoes and a bit of rice and prefer cat food. How can i wean them onto wet food? Is it alright to feed them raw meat? These are house cats and are not allowed out.

Dear Shiv..
Its is always beneficial to add more details about your pets like their age, where and how they live and other feeding habits. When a clear idea is presented it encourages response.

Anyways, I presume you might have been giving your cats a mixed diet and peeped it up with cat food. Well you should remember that cats are strict carnivores (as opposed to dogs). Dry cat food as beneficial as it may claim to be would lead to problems in the long run. Its in the better interest of your cats to switch to either raw or canned animal origin foods.
Easier said than done, this switch would need a lot of patience and efforts to be achieved. Try various combination and gradually wean them over.

And yes there is no problem in feeding your cats raw meat, just take care that you include bones with it.

Yes serving milk is the best way to supply a balanced food for them.
