Postby vet » Thu Jan 25, 2007 10:53 pm

25 Jan, 2006: Making its debut at the annual Republic day parade, the Remount Veterinary Corps (RVC) will depict the multiple deployments of the Army dogs for mine and explosive detection, search and rescue operations during avalanches, earthquakes, land slides and counter-insurgency and counter terrorist operations.
The tableau will also show breeding, rearing and training of equines.
The RVC has seen a growth in its stature and demand in the army owing to their highly specialised and trained animals, who are performaing exceedingly well for duties as sniffer dogs or pack/race aniamls.
According to the RVC the fruits of their labour will soon be internationally recognised especially with their horse breeding programme.
