NAVLE STUDY MATERIAL

I think I know enough resources to help you guys find the right places to get study material. This is after you're done with the language tests and the registration process. I. You need to organize your study plan early on and know what to study. Do check out the NAVLE website for those 60 sample questions which will give you a general idea.

1- Merck manual is the Bible for those of you who have the time to read the whole thing! I would personally use it for reference when there are subjects I'm unsure about or when the topic is really important. The toxicology section in it, is pretty good.

2-The National Veterinary Medical Series(NVMS): it has a small animal(green cover) medicine and a large animal medicine(pink cover) book. These are excellent sources, but not enough on their own. If you ask me, they're a must-have!

3-The Pratt question series(Books and test CD): Much harder and detailed than the real exam. Don't be dissapointed if you don't get good marks on it. It's only good for your time management skills.


4-Vet students' notes: If you know vet students that are studying at a vet school in north america, ask them for their summeries and preperation notes for the exam. They basically concentrate their studies on their 3rd year study material for the board.

Know the percentages or questions based on species. Don't overtly sweat over poultry, exotics,etc. Focus your studies on small animal medicine, surgery....equine...bovine-pigs...then the rest.
